Del Monte Fruit to Move Operations Non-union
Dear all,
Our
colleagues from the ILA (Philadelphia Local,
Pennsylvania) have informed us that after weeks
of tense negotiations and with the ILA Locals
delivering over $5 Million in concessions, Del
Monte Fruit has announce that beginning October
1, 2010 their company will take their operation
non-union in the Port of Philadelphia (the
actual operation is in South Jersey across the
river).
We will
soon send more detailed and updated information
on the conflict.
For the
moment, we kindly request all IDC ports to
notify the IDC Coordination Office if Del Monte
is currently operating in their ports as soon as
possible.
